Yesterday one of my friends from home told me her little sister was in town and that they would be able to stop by today! Can you see the panic in my face as I start thinking about the millions of things that are messy in this house at the moment. I always tell myself that the house doesn't have to be perfect. But I just can't help myself. Before I know it, I am busting out the cleaning squad and kicking myself slacking on the cleaning. Just a little bit because Summers are allowed to be a little messy.
First things first. A quick late night run to Walmart for some food for the grill. Figured we could take a trip back to our high school beach barbeque's. All that's missing will be the beach!
Next up cleaning supplies. Because summers are messy. Did I mention that already? There's some cleaning that needs to be done before people come over! Once we got home, I got the chicken straight in the marinade and the macaroni salad mixed up. Its just one of those things that taste better the next day. I thought about cleaning the bathroom before I went to bed, but then I remembered that I am a boy mom and we only have two bathrooms. The one guest use is the one the boys use. And we all know what a disaster boys in a bathroom can be. Sinks and surfaces need to be scrubbed down. And scrubbed well.

And don't get me started on chicken. I love it. We eat a lot of it, but whenever I cook it, I can't help but feel the need to sanitize all the things! Nothing is spared and everything gets cleaned. With a 99.9% germ killing strength, Clorox Cleaner + Bleach is my go to!

Or maybe they were kid smudges. Sometimes it's hard to tell when you have giant dogs who are the same height as the kids. That also explains the tooth marks in my door knob. Sneaky dogs!
So there you have it. My Clean Squad! And what's best is that all that's left to do is light up the grill. I will get that started just before everyone comes over, that way, I will have time to catch up instead of standing at the grill the whole time. It has been almost 20 years since I have seen her. Im so excited!
