When I am around to link up with the always amazing Lindsay, Beth and Charlotte from the Peaceful Posse its always a good day! Taking the time to reflect on the last 7 days and look at all the good, despite all the bad is such a good way to let that crap go. Nobody has time for that, so lets just take a look at all the things this week that made us happy and thankful! Here's are a few of my bits of happiness.
Wrapping up Anthony's birthday week. Steaks on his birthday, a sleep over and a new skateboard. Taking him into the store and letting him pick out what he wanted and watching him get excited as they put his board together was so much fun. Hes such a serious kid and has been though the ringer lately. Seeing him smile...made me beyond happy!
Wednesday was a tough day for me. My body has been doing a kind of up and down thing. That is life with Chronic Illness for you. But yesterday, I was able to get out of bed and get stuff done so today I am just going to take it easy. Plus I don't have to cook dinner tonight, so that's always a plus.
Talking work with David. There could possibly be some big changes coming up and the kind that would bring big changes for us. He asked me if I would really be willing to move for work. If it means that he would be happier and finally get paid his worth. How could I ever say no?
What you don't see is the two scooters and the pile of shoes behind me. There have been extra kids in and out of the house and over for dinner. We have been spending most evenings on the street playing. Summer Vibes are hitting a little early and that's just fine with me!
You guys? Is anyone else watching this show? I just finished it! I cried like a baby. And while shows that get me all emotional usually piss me off, I loved this one. I hope it comes back! As of today it isn't renewed or cancelled, so we shall see.
Starting a new notebook. Am I the only one who LOVES the feeling of cracking open a new notebook. There are usually 2 or 3 floating around the house that I write in. Grocery lists, doctor notes, everything else. The 2 I was using are both filled so I cracked open a new one yesterday and it was refreshing. I'm weird, I know. And its okay!
Trying new foods. Last night with dinner, I served red and white quinoa. The guys have had quinoa before. Never just as a side though, so I was interested to see what they though. Anthony gave it a thumbs up. The other two tried it. But that was as far as that went. It's more of a texture and look thing. But they did give it a few bites so, I'm thankful they tried it.
Before we had kids, David and I used to love to play video games. The boys have taken over the consoles now. I haven't played in so long that I pretty much spent the whole time running away and hiding from Alex who got such a kick out of kicking my butt. So many eye rolls!
That pretty much sums up my week. My mind has been a little cloudy lately so I have been making a point to take pictures of everything as the days go by so I can remember them. There is a lot of weird photos on my phone right now. Don't worry, its all PG 13!
We have a work dinner thing later tonight. Tomorrow we are celebrating my "neighbor husband" and Sunday we are taking a drive up to Austin to explore a little. And Monday we will be home trying to get things ready for the week. Schools out in 8 days! Summer is so close I can smell it. It smells like sunscreen and BBQ! Ahhh I can't wait!
What made you happy this week? What do you have planned for the long weekend?
