Well, this week blew though like a hurricane. For us anyway. Probably because I cleared out so much stuff in the garage and things from around the house that were just taking up space. So much so that now the boys are just pointing to things and asking me if Im getting rid of that too! Probably should slow down before there is nothing left.
But I can breath easier now. I can also get in the car with out hitting a pile of bags in the garage. I can also see the treadmill again. I set walking everyday as a goal, but totally failed because there were bags and boxes on the treadmill. Don't judge. Its cleared and I will get back to it. As soon as my feet start hurting from standing on the hard garage floor for two days. Flat feet problems. Anyways.
Today I'm linking up with Lindsay from The Flynnigans, Charlotte from My Pixie Blog and Beth from Coffee until Cocktails. Every Friday we share all the things that we are happy, grateful and thankful for! Here are a few things that made my list this week!
Alex and Anthony finding ways to deal with boredom.
Getting rid of things. Spring/Stress Cleaning.
Coffee, coffee and more coffee.
Seeing a friend off on a new adventure.
Celebrating a friends birthday in the street.
Good curly hair days.
Designated self care time outs.
Chicken pot pie for dinner.
Having help in the kitchen.
My mothers day gift from David. An Ipad.
A friend of mine got me into celebrating self care Sunday. Before I would just squeeze it in where I can but having a day to remember it is so much easier. Sunday nights after everyone is asleep, you can usually find me in my bathroom. Soaking in the tub, with a mask on my face, or feet! I try to try new products here and there. I have a new hair mask for this week. I can't wait. This same friend celebrated here birthday this week. I took her wine. Because quarantine birthdays require all the wine.
The boys have been spending more time than usual on video games so I have started blocking out chunks of time here and there to break it up. Of course they are bored the minute they disconnect but they are finding ways to stay busy. And their personalities are showing. Anthony chose to use his time out rearranging his bed room. Alex grabbed a speaker, an umbrella and a baby pool and laid in the sun like he was at the beach.
Last month I decided to figure out my whole hair situation. Since I got sick, my hair has been thinning and falling out. I have always brushed off my frizz to being crazy islander hair. And I knew it had some curl to it. But! One month into this adventure with sulfate free washes and products and no heat has changed my hair dramatically. As in I lost a few inches because the curls are such tight ringlets. And while the curls are cool, I mostly just want my hair to stop falling out.
I usually have photos to share but it was a crazy week. I feel like I have been so disconnected. Well, online, and more than usual. This distance learning means my laptop was hijacked and I hate blogging from my phone. So instead I have been using the time to stay connected with family though instagram video. Im the only one who uses an android phone out of all my siblings and Mom. So David got me an Ipad for Mothers Day so I can FT now too.
This weekend is going to be spent as "new usual". Hanging around the house. There are a few movies we want to watch. Yard work. And grocery shopping. I haven't decided what I want to eat for Mothers Day dinner. Maybe David can just slap some burgers on the grill? Or maybe we can order some thing. I don't know. I do know that Id love it for my kitchen to stay clean all Sunday!
What are yall up to this weekend? How will you be celebrating mothers day? This year sure is changing things up. Im so ready to go back into the out again. What ever you guys do, I hope it fills your heart with happiness! Happy Friday!
